Film city is need of the hour for our State

Goa is a lovely holiday destination, with sun-baked beaches, vivid culture, loving people who provide amicable hospitality, and also, a hub of exclusive entertainment. However, entertainment is in the blood of every Goan.

The news flash of an ambitious project of embarking a sprawling film city on 250 acres of land is of great significance. Almighty God has blessed Goa with its pristine beauty, which is also instrumental for movie filming at exotic locations.

In older times, Bollywood movies were mostly filmed in the northern parts of India like Himachal/Kashmir etc, but in the modern era, Goa has turned out to be the most sought after destination for Bollywood movies.

After International Film Festival, film city could prove to be another feather in the cap for the sustainable development of entertainment industry in Goa.

It's high time now that Goa should have a film city of its own. Good as far as it goes, the local talents (Directors/Artists) will also get an opportunity to portray their creativity in films/serials/documentaries, thus carving a niche for them in the celluloid world.

Eventually, a distinctive move though, and a humble request to the State government, to go ahead with the pioneering film city project in Goa.
