Fix Arrarim-Saligao road urgently

The main road from Peggy’s corner to Mater-Dei High School in Arrarim-Saligao ward is in a terrible state because it was damaged by PWD workers while laying underground pipelines. This has caused problems for office workers, pedestrians, and church-goers, especially those in formal clothes. It’s been two months, and the road is still a mess.

Local residents living along this road suffer the most. Dust enters their homes whenever a vehicle passes by. To combat this, they frequently water the road in front of their houses to reduce dust pollution and protect their homes and vehicles.

Compare this to Chogm road, which was similarly damaged for pipeline work a few months ago but has since been repaired. Why hasn’t the same been done for Arrarim-Saligao road? How much longer must people endure dust pollution? The authorities need to act swiftly to restore the damaged road or risk accidents, especially during the upcoming monsoon season. Let’s hope they make the right decision soon.
