Ever since the Goa government passed the Agricultural bill, there seems to be a huge spurt in filling fields in the State. In fact, in my village of Colva there were two cases filling of fields Ward 1 and Ward 3.
If this is the result of passing the bill, the Goa government must investigate in urgency for flaws in the bill and set up a chat line/online system, which allows citizens to upload photos and information in regards to the cases of illegal filling of fields, with the option of confidentiality.
The authorities must then investigate these cases and punish the violators. Are the Chief Minister, the TCP Minister and the Environment Minister concerned and serious about addressing this issue?
