Goans have rejected the need for Marinas in Goa. These are nothing but ‘parking’ or berthing slots for small pleasure boats and yachts.
So, the businessmen are now resorting to floating jetties -- again nothing but berthing slots for small boats in the rivers.
No sooner did the floating jetty come up at Old Goa, more started to mushroom in Chopdem, Camurlim etc. all with no permissions. This is a backdoor entry for the same.
Beach and riverside property is prime land. In Daman and Lakshadweep, politicians are working to usurp such land from the original inhabitants as one can mint money from the same.
Locals must beware of sheep in wolf's clothing. One needs to ask: what has become of the original natives of America and Australia?
