Forged Covid reports: Food for thought

A recent report by Check Point Research claimed that forged negative Ccovid test results and fake vaccine certificates were being offered on the dark net and various hacking forums in country.

These fake documents were reportedly being offered for money to people seeking to board flights, cross borders, attend events, or start new jobs.

Last year in December, a report by India Today claimed that there was a racket of a group of people providing fake Covid results at some of the State-run hospitals across the country.

In Gujarat couple of pathological labs were shutdown after it found that they were selling fake Covid-19 negative test results.

A Mumbai couple was booked by authorities for forging Covid-19 test reports. As they were infected, they were flying to Jaipur with forged reports.

It had been reported that in Haryana’s Rohtak, several students used fake positive reports to avoid answering their exams. Many students cited medical reasons, including Covid, for taking online exams.

And these might well prove to be a menace for the country.
