Dr Oscar Rebello, while commenting on today's political scenario has said on a local news channel recently that more than the BJP leaders, it's the former elected Congress, opportunist current BJP leaders from the minority community like Michael Lobo, Mauvin Godinho, etc who are seen auctioning and destroying the environment of this state. And due to which Goans should stop wasting their precious time voting only for Congress candidates based on religion in all future elections in Goa. In a way what Dr Rebello has said is absolutely right but I do believe that the reason why some Goans (especially the Catholics) are seen voting only for Congress candidates is because they still have no other choice in the state as they know that most small-time 'opposition' parties have been formed/funded by the BJP to split the non-BJP votes during elections. They also know that the BJP is a communal anti-minority party. I think that Dr Rebello should dare to enter the political arena, get himself elected in the Goa Assembly and then give lessons on how to protect/save what is still left of Goa.
