Govt jobs should go to deserving candidates

GFP president and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, making serious allegations of corruption in the recruitment process for Lower Division Clerk (LDC) posts at the South Goa District Collectorate should be probed by Goa Lokayukta and ED.  Sardesai claims to have received unverified reports suggesting that the recruitment process, which commenced in October 2023, has been tainted by "cash for jobs" scam. The individuals who did not even qualify for the merit list received appointment letters is a cause of concern.  The selection process concerned does not inspire any confidence that appointed persons had been selected in a fair and transparent manner.  The educated youth are the victims of the wrong policies being propagated. Government jobs are brazenly auctioned to deprive meritorious and deserving candidates and to adjust only undeserving candidates for money.  Government recruitment process was institutionalized to ensure accountability and transparency.  Jobs should be ensured for deserving candidates so that they are not deprived of their opportunities. Government jobs should be obtained only on merit, not by bribing.
