Greed for power has led to downfall of Congress

The highly contentious question as to who will be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka which was hanging in the balance for over 4 days, has finally ended it seems, after the climbdown by State Congress president DK Shivakumar, by agreeing  to the power sharing formula of the High Command. The stage is all set now for the official swearing-in ceremony of Siddaramaiah  as Chief Minister,  in Bengaluru, on May 20. It is most unfortunate that much drama was enacted by both the rival candidates, even after it was earlier agreed by them during canvassing, to abide by the decision of the Congress High Command, and to  work unitedly for the welfare of the party and the people of Karnataka. It is also shameful that personal ambitions and greed for power have become the hallmark of elected Congress MLAs in recent years, which have contributed to the downfall of the Congress. With this prevailing culture,  how does the Congress cherish hopes of forming a grand coalition of Opposition parties to take on the might of the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections?.
