On one side, the Goa government boasts about “Har Ghar Jal”, but the ground reality in Goa is very different. There is Nal (tap) but no Jal (water), in some villages, where every day it is a struggle to fetch water to drink due to the scarcity of water for decades.
There is an emphasis on the quality of water. And the people’s struggle continues. Locals here feel pain when they see some politicians and local representatives play with their innocence for getting votes in exchange for hollow promises to bring Acche din.
In fact, even some of the majority of the households who have obtained tap connections have not seen any water flowing through their pipelines.
In the areas like Endrem, Keri, Nadkem, which do not even have proper electricity supply how can they have water supply in their households? The certification of 100% of 'Har Ghar Jal' is a farce. It's only the celebration for non-achievements with fake utsavs and placards and publicity.
