It was deeply disturbing to read a couple of horrible incidents reported on the front page of your newspaper. The woman who offered her minor daughter to the tantrik, the uncle who threw his 13-year old nephew into a well and the body of an infant found in a dustbin outside an apartment. What is happening to this world? It is disturbing to know that even in this age and time, people still believe in black magic and tantriks & so-called godmen.
What about that man who threw his nephew into a well. It was fortunate that the lad managed to get back to safety. But this incident will haunt haunt him for a long time to come. And, the dumping of infants in dustbins or by the roadside or in some bush should send a chill down one's spine. How could a mother do such a deed, no matter what the compulsion. With such incidents occurring in recent times, one wonders, have we human beings lost our sanity? I can't help posing this question, is God dead or are we dead to God?
