A high mast light at Benaulim beach has a service hatch at the bottom which is permanently open. It contains the gear for raising and lowering the fixture for servicing /replacement when required as well as the electrical controls.
This is high voltage / wattage equipment and leaving it exposed to the rains and general public poses a great danger to life and limb besides pilferage by miscreants.
I request the electrical department to attend to the matter at hand immediately before a mishap occurs.
