Hijab row is just plain politics

Amidst the escalating controversy over hijab-clad girls being denied entry to colleges in Karnataka even while Hindu students protested sporting saffron shawls and turbans, the Karnataka CM has ordered the closure of all educational institutions in the state. This issue is being milked by all parties for their narrow political ends who want to gain traction by creating strife between communities. This is an election strategy honed to perfection by the BJP -- first create controversies and then take the side of the majority, the very same tactics employed by the Nazis against the Jews. Impressionable children are being sucked into the communal cauldron by these bigoted merchants of hate who have nothing else to offer to the populace besides venom; man against man.

The hijab was being worn by the girls all these years, why the flare-up now? The ruling party is simply prepping up for next year’s elections. Karnataka has morphed into the UP of the South, from Silicon Valley of India to Saffron Valley, what a fall.
