The issue of imposition of Emergency is being debated by condemning it being a dark phase suffered by the Nation. It was indeed a black era but it is history now as no one remembers the same. Those who suffered are no more and those born in that period are just ignorant and only few interested have to take efforts to get details from history books, rest others are least bothered. How many of us do remember Hindu genocide, Sikh massacre, serial bomb blasts and for that matter recent Corona pandemic. Our memory is too short to reward those who gave sufferings / hardships, siphoned the funds but punished those who came to rescue and alleviate the situation. We are most ungrateful and do not deserve decent treatment as we still have not come out of the colonial mindset. It is just pointless to debate on Emergency as it is just another item in history books along with that of our invaders. It is hoped time is not wasted in discussions or any form of protests but put to productive use.
