The High Court has clearly directed the government offices to take immediate action against illegal structures erected on government road property, especially along roadside areas. Unfortunately, both the village panchayats and municipality offices have failed to fulfill their responsibilities in this regard. This negligence is causing unnecessary disturbances to the traffic system and compromising public safety. It is baffling to see how people continue to violate rules and regulations without facing any consequences. The failure to act decisively, especially in areas under PWD Roads, raises serious questions about the government’s commitment to upholding law and order. Are authorities deliberately neglecting their duties to protect certain vote banks, thus putting the public interest at risk? The government must prioritize the enforcement of laws and ensure that illegal encroachments are removed promptly. The safety and convenience of citizens should never be sacrificed for political gains.
