Introspection needed into Goa teachers' performance

It is really shocking to hear from news reports that 80 science and maths teachers teaching in government high schools in Goa - undergoing training under the National Education policy (NEP) at the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru have failed miserably at the pre and post-tests of the class 10 examination, scoring as low as 4 out of 100 marks which puts a question mark on the recruitment process of teachers in Goa and the quality of education imparted to the students in Goa.  I see students flocking to private tuition classes in large numbers to secure higher percentage at the Board examinations. This is no proof of quality education in Goa and these private tuition classes are a booming business in Goa thanks to the quality of education provided by the government schools in Goa. It's a wake up call to the Goa government to take stringent action and do the necessary to make selection process of teachers free and fair which is the need of the hour so that our students no longer suffer at the hands of incompetent educators which promotes tuition culture.
