Issue of parking fee at interstate bus stand in Mapusa

A few days ago, I went to drop my daughter-in-law at the new interstate bus stand in Mapusa at 9.45 pm. The boarding bus was at 10 pm. As I parked my vehicle to unload the luggage, a man approached me and said I had to pay Rs 100 for parking. I told him I was only dropping off a passenger, but he then demanded Rs 50.

I refused and asked where the board displaying the parking fees was. I said I would park outside instead. I then looked around to check if any official boards had been put up by the authorities. I found none ” only two boards showing parking for four-wheelers and two-wheelers, but with no mention of charges.

Will the authorities ” whether KTC, the Transport Department, or MMC ” please clarify the parking rates at Mapusa? How are consumers supposed to know whether the amount being collected is legal?
