Junta House elevator needs repairs for PwD accessibilty

It has been almost over 12 days since one of the elevators at the Junta House building in Panaji has been out of order due to water seepage. Even senior citizens and disabled are visiting offices on first and second floor and the non-accessibilty is a cause of concern  The second lift has the option for those who are working in fourth and fifth floor. But the first elevator at main gate has option to accessible to all the floors. During heavy rains it is horrible to enter the building from back gate towards the lift. What about the accessibility for PwD employees and senior citizens who work in the first and second floor offices. The PwD has to struggle to climb steps to reach the office at first floor in Junta House.  I urge the government and Public Works Department authorities concerned to look into the issue and get the elevator fixed urgently, so that the disabled employee can get accessibility. What happened to the government’s commitment of getting government offices PwD friendly?
