There has been a rise in criminal activities in Goa, causing serious concern about law and order. The recent dacoity in Mapusa shows that people no longer feel safe as crime grows unchecked. Criminals seem fearless, operating even in broad daylight, while residents lose confidence in the system. Goa, once peaceful, is now being used as a base for illegal activities. Many citizens feel unsafe even in their homes. Weak policing allows criminals to act without fear.
Democracy should mean that citizens are sovereign, but when politicians control the system, people feel helpless.
