The recent Zilla Panchayat election results in Goa clearly indicate that the Congress party, along with its alliance partner Goa Forward Party, has secured a significant advantage, especially in South Goa. Despite Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s efforts to hold corner meetings targeting constituencies of Congress leaders like Yuri Alemao and Altone D'Costa, the alliance partnership has proven crucial. As we approach the Assembly elections, it is imperative that differences between Congress/Goa Forward and RGP/AAP are resolved so that they can present a united front for a decisive victory. Even though the division of votes between RGP and AAP could have benefitted BJP, the Congress party remains confident in its position. However, questions arise within Congress about those who may not be working wholeheartedly in the party's interest or opposing alliance partnerships. Congratulations to all the winning candidates; the people of Goa have clearly voiced their desire for a change, as reflected in the election outcomes.
