People have been constantly objecting to the last stretch of the Western Bypass to save their water bodies and fields. The people proposed a simple solution of building the bypass on stilts. Such projects are for whose benefits, if not the inhabitants? Local MLAs have been saying stilts are a costly affair. So, where does the money for these projects come from? The MLAs’ pockets? The MLAs just root for the whims of the Centre. Such projects are planned by people sitting in Delhi, relying on google maps. The local MLAs must pay attention to what the people have to say and not their masters in Delhi. In such circumstances, people must take a call and vote out such MLAs who do not listen to their genuine grievances. The objective must be: Goa first, party next. There must be a cleansing of the current anti-people political actors.
