The BJP appears to be exulting in the growing stature of PM Modi on the global stage and his unique capacity to swing votes. This however, couldn't be seen in Karnataka and now all eyes will be on him on the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
The anti-incumbency factor and the simmering discontent of political defections may turn educated voters against the BJP.
Also the Opposition unity is more symbolic than pragmatic, and could result in splitting of anti-BJP votes. Both NDA and INDIA will have a tough time managing alliance partners for seat-sharing.
Many local issues and aspirations would play significant roles in 2024 elections which will make the election turf complex for both the sides.
Electoral promises, local issues, local appeal and sensitive narrative driven by charismatic campaigns can tilt the scales either way as this Lok Sabha elections looks like a tough fight and not a cakewalk for one alliance.
