Manufactured popularity

Recently, an IT professional and statistician did an analysis of comments below a video on social media of PM Modi’s speech about the Women’s Reservation Bill. They found that all the comments were angry and negative. These comments were mostly in English, but later there was a sudden surge of comments which praised the speech; they were all in Hindi.

A deep dive was done into the people posting comments. It was found that the negative comments were from profiles which had been active for a long time, whereas the positive ones were from profiles which had been created recently, one even created that very day. It was clear that most posts originated from bots. This sudden spate of positive comments shows how bhakts will do anything to manufacture popularity for their dear leader. The IT cell army will go to any lengths to keep up the façade that there is still a market for his brand. People have seen through him; it’s the beginning of the end.
