This is with reference to the report, "Submerged roads in Margao brings to the fore unresolved flooding issue - The Goan Everyday June 25, 2022." So, Margao roads have got inundated with the heavy downpour, Margao roads have become unwalkable? Apparently, the storm water drains of whatever, have not been cleaned properly or not capable of handling very heavy rains. And, this in the commercial capital of the state. Well you are all in good company. Here on Mumbai too, we have a similar problem. No matter the claims made by the civic authorities that drains have been cleaned, we see the city being turned into one big swimming pool, year after year. Then, they have the excuse that the drains don't have the capacity to accommodate very heavy rains. The fact remains however, that even with moderate rainfall we can see floods all around us. And this, in the commercial capital of the country! So, here we are Margao & Mumbai, in deep waters. Enjoy the rains forget the floods, what else can we do?
