Ever since Covid lockdowns were imposed in March 2020, the busy Maria Hall crossing has been turned into a fish market by the locals, half the width of the road is taken up by these retailers leaving just about enough space for a bus to pass. Customers park their two-wheelers haphazardly while haggling with the fisherwomen. Also, buses on the Mobor and Colva routes use this junction as a major halt to pick up passengers for Margao. Due to this, there is a permanent traffic jam at the crossing and a danger to both vehicles and pedestrians. I would request the authorities concerned to ease the bottleneck by removing this blatant encroachment.
