Mini-firefighting engines need of the hour in Goa

The state of Goa has been witnessing frequent fire incidents resulting in loss of property worth lakhs of rupees. Fire incidents are unpredictable and can take place anywhere from a congested housing colony to the market place and from dry grass catching fire to forest fires that can destroy a large number of trees.  Though regular fire engines can carry a lot of water and equipment to douse the fires, they may not be able to move through narrow roads and slums where there is hardly any space between the houses. These massive fire engines may not be able to move through thick forests in order to fight a forest fire. Here is where mini fire-fighters which are comparatively smaller in size come in handy. When used in urban areas with narrow streets, low bridges and narrow tunnels, or on narrow mountain roads these compact vehicles come in handy. A firefighter even the size of a jeep can be useful to move through narrow passages. The firefighting department in Goa needs to procure more of these mini-firefighters so that they are available at every fire station in the state.
