The statement made by Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia that the Aam Aadmi Party is willing to give the deputy chief minister's post in Goa to a minority community candidate is an affront against the minority community in the State. Though the minority community is just about 25% of the electorate in Goa, still minority community candidates are as good as the best in the State and thus no lines of distinction should have been drawn. Any minority candidate who is sincere, hard working, intelligent and possessing integrity and high degree of probity in public life is capable of becoming the chief minister of Goa. It is to be stressed here, that the Trinamool Congress Party has in very clear terms asserted that credit will be given to merit and skill. Thus why should the TMC not be given support by the minority community if the TMC is not discriminating against any community. Goa has not had a minority community chief minister for a long time. It's time there is a level playing field immaterial of the community that you belong to.
