It is learnt that the government has appointed eight senior bureaucrats to handle the Covid crisis in each district of the state. This a step in the right direction. But then what about the elected representatives from each constituency? These local MLAs have an obligation in this moment of crisis. But unfortunately most of them are conspicuous by their absence.
It would be desirable for the local MLAs to coordinate with bureaucrats who have been appointed to handle the Covid crisis and report to the government on action taken. We are in a crisis situation and all the 40 elected representative need to come out and help the Goans at this moment without fear of themselves being infected.
