This is in context to the Mapusa municipal council meeting turning stormy. The meeting was chaired by Priya Mishal and the high-voltage drama started when she asked one of the councillors to ‘get out’ when he questioned her on pending issues.
The chairperson is clearly at fault as such language cannot be used by those in charge while conducting high-profile meetings.
The meeting continued and all hell broke loose as other councillors too joined the debate.
The chairperson should respect the councillors and should exercise control over the language that is used.
Councillors raising questions should be heard and given chance to put forth their issues.
