The report and subsequent interview of Justice (Retd) P KMisra who served in the Human Rights body and then as Lokayukta of Goa isshameful. So is the Supreme Court observation in the Hathras episode as"horrible". Our nation has been firmly divided by violence, hate andsuspicion with the Centre trying to rule with an iron hand using police,enforcement agencies against any dissent. With Parliament reduced to a noticeboard, no discussion with the Opposition or those it affects, bills are passed.It is disgraceful that farmers are agitating in some states against the farmlaws. The Guleli panchayat has refused NOC to a compound wall for thegovernment-planned IIT project. Using the CBI, police, enforcement agencies onthe Opposition and anyone who dissents is not democracy. At this juncture, thenation needs to unite to fight Covid, economic slowdown and skyrocketingprices. The PM will have to realize this sooner than later and reverse hismajoritarian and undemocratic way of governing.
