The BJP party is more of Real Estate development party vs its humble official name including “Janata Party”. And what is outrageous, is that Goa Government deceitfully uses the excuse as the projects are for local Goans; as in the recent cases of Unity Mall and Prashasan Stambh projects at Chimbel. This local Goan claim clearly falls flat, as the term Goan is not clearly defined and made as mandatory, priority for jobs, business etc. We have seen numerous developments where the local Goans employment/business reasoning was put as the main argument , but in reality locals were hardly benefiting from the projects. Of course, there are also major reasons on the environment front that these projects should not come up in the first place, but the point here is the Goa Government should stop deceitfully using the “local Goan benefit” claim so as to push its environmentally destructive projects! Also government land is people’s land to be used for the local people, and the Chief Minister and his ministers should not think that they are the owners of the land and they can do as they wish.
