A major responsibility for India's economic collapse, lies at the door of the higher judiciary. When a criminal government runs amok and the higher judiciary becomes a hand-maiden of the sarkar, investor confidence plunges. This is reflected in over 500,000 Indian dollar-millionaires leaving the country with their wealth, for better places, over the past 11 years, where they would not need to live in fear of social disturbance. It is these dollar-millionaires who would have been creators of jobs and wealth in India. FDI too wound down to a trickle, because money always seeks low risk havens and a country wracked by social turmoil and blatant acts of criminality by its own government, with a pliant judiciary incapable of or unwilling to rein in that criminality, cannot be seen as a safe haven for pension or sovereign funds. We cannot just blame the rotten duo at the top for the mess we're all in; we have to blame ourselves and other organs of our state.
