Morphing of children's game of 'chor-police'

As children we used to play a game called chor-police wherein one kid who was designated 'police' had to catch the other participants labelled 'chors'. But in today's Goa both are now usually the same person. A few days back a case came to light wherein a cop directed a citizen to pay him a bribe via Google Pay into his friend's account to avoid being caught red handed. A few days later a couple sitting in a public park at Dona Paula was harassed by police personnel and a substantial sum was extorted from them using blackmail tactics. The cops kept phoning the girl to demand more money even after she had paid up.  And recently, a tourist family with a sick infant on the way to the airport was intercepted on the highway by traffic cops and kicked out of their vehicle simply because they had hired a private car for self drive purposes. They were left on the road till a passing taxi came to their rescue and the family could catch their flight back. The game of chor-police has now morphed into chor-chor.
