In Goa, incidents of cannabis plants being found in various locations have come to light recently. In the Panaji Smart City, cannabis plants were discovered twice. Recently, small cannabis plants were found at the base of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue in Curchorem. Despite the Curchorem Police Station being just a few kilometres away, no one was aware of this. The Shivaji Circle in Curchorem is a main area with heavy traffic. Questions remain about how such an incident could occur in such a busy place. Although the plants were discovered in the morning, the lack of immediate action has fuelled further discussions. After the Smart City case, the discovery of cannabis plants in a different area has raised serious questions about who could be behind this. It is indeed shameful and concerning that such incidents are happening in prominent public places, especially near significant landmarks like the statue of Shivaji Maharaj. It raises questions about law enforcement, public awareness, and the overall vigilance in these areas. Such occurrences highlight the need for stricter monitoring and immediate action to maintain the dignity and security of these spaces.
