After almost a week since the body of the young Nachinola girl was found on the Calangute beach, the police are yet to make any headway into the investigations.
The girl it is reported was working at a mall and had failed to report to work on that fateful day. It was only after her employer called her on her mobile (which was left at home) that the parents came to know she was missing.
Till date, the police it seems have done a pathetic job. In the first place, they were not prompt in acting as soon as the parents had filed a missing complaint.
Secondly, after her body was found on the Calangute beach, it was quickly taken for a post-mortem without informing the parents. The police were prompt to announce that the death was due to drowning.
Police have also not thrown any light on how her clothes disappeared. The question that comes to mind is does a person who commits suicide takes out his/her clothes before taking the drastic step?
It is also reported that her viscera was also not kept at the GMC laboratory. This now makes it more difficult to prove if the deceased had faced any type of assault. The suspense also deepens as to what happened to the young girl on that fateful day before her death.
The way the investigation into the case is progressing, it will only take a miracle for the truth to come out.
