The MDR-10 roadwork in Siolim is moving at a very slow pace due to the hot weather. I want to bring to the attention of PWD (Roads) engineers that before starting any work, they should ensure that damaged private land is restored or made accessible to the owners.
It is unfair to take advantage of owners who are away in Mumbai or do not live here by dumping road debris in front of their entrances. This blocks access to their homes and is both a public and personal nuisance. If the owners return to Goa today, how are they supposed to enter their own houses? Many of them are senior citizens, and such actions by the engineers should not be tolerated.
This is a clear case of negligence and poor service, which could lead to accidents or injuries for the homeowners. I hope the engineers take action before the owners return for their holidays.
