Goa's roads have turned into a 'road deaths capital' of India, with news of accidents on daily basis. Sadly, in the recent past, we had several major road tragedies that shook the State's conscience. We will be celebrating the 'Road Safety Week', that's from October 14 to 20. The theme for this said event, 'No Helmet, No Petrol' is highly appreciated as this is the need of the hour, to bring strict discipline on roads. It should be enforced across Goa and not only in North Goa. In keeping a safety balance, helmet or head gear can work wonders and be instrumental in protecting the head of the victim in case of any major/minor road atrocities, even when it's self accident. These efforts from each biker/rider can avert a major road mishap and save several lives on the roads. Moreover, the 'Road Safety Awareness' ought to be also included in the school syllabus. Ultimately, even a minor error from someone coming from the opposite direction can lead to a major road tragedy. Drive/ride safely by implementing strict discipline while on roads.
