It isseen that a section of the Goan society is always hell-bent on objecting to anyproject or development in the State. Be it the opposition to so-calleddouble-tracking of Railways or the proposed IIT, the same lot of people can beseen opposing. It also appears that the Church in Goa is once again on anactive mode opposing developmental projects. This reminds me of the agitationagainst Konkan Railway decades ago. The irony is that many of those whose landswere acquired never traveled by Konkan Railway, but those predominantly fromSalcete, opposing the project, now gladly commute in the KR trains. Thesyndrome of 'Not In My Backyard' (NIMBy)" should stop. Goa's march towardsdevelopment should not be impeded by politically motivated interests.
