Theproponents of a Hindu India are emboldened by the PM and ruling party's silenceon the violence and hate speeches by politicians and even seers. Such incidentswill destroy the secular fabric of the nation. Recently, Jayesh Naik, leader ofthe Bajrang Dal, and his group threatened to disrupt celebrations of the annualfeast of St Joseph at the ruins of an old church in Sancoale to be held on Jan16th. All over India, many Christian and Muslim institutions are being targetedby such vigilantes with state patronage. Goa is showing the way as thevillagers of Sancoale led by Hindus lodged a police complaint. They stood bythe Catholic community. Keeping aside religious differences, they have beenliving together in harmony. Jayesh, who is not even a resident of Sancoale hasbeen inciting religious hatred for the last one year. The police have submitteda report to the Deputy Collector. We also saw videos of a Dharma Sansad inHaridwar of hate speeches by Hindu Seers going viral, even calling for agenocide against Muslims. The lack of action by the police with no immediatearrests and no condemnation by the administration is shocking. The matter hasreached the Supreme Court which is moving cautiously. If such hate speeches gounchecked, then it will be dangerous for a religiously diverse country. Historyclearly shows all genocidal movements were started by hate speeches. TheHolocaust for the extermination of Jews is a grim reminder and our Hindu seerscalling for genocide against Muslims must be condemned and nipped in the budwith strict and exemplary action called for by all law-abiding Indians.
