This degree controversy has been going on for about 10 years now, so for the past 10 years, people are aware that it is a fake degree. All but the most stupid, know that. And, if they know that much, they also know that their Lord and master has lied. And during that period, they have voted for him twice. So, it's my educated guess is that the said Lord and master was knowingly voted because he is a liar and he is uneducated. The uneducated masses identify with him. He is their kin, that is why the chaiwala jibe backfired. And as for dishonesty, every time you see someone jump your queue, there you see dishonesty.
