People should say a firm 'no' to plastic bags

Plastic bags are banned in the State but from the roadside vendors to the shopkeepers and other businessmen are still selling and giving plastic bags to their customers. We can see that the people throw the plastic bags and garbage on the roadside which is giving the bad name to the state of Goa and it is destroying our health, safety and environment. We have to be responsible citizens of this country and take a vow to carry our own bag for shopping and not to ask or take the plastic bags from the market for shopping. It was our late chief minister Manohar Parrikar's dream to make the State a plastic bags and garbage free state but today's ministers don't seem to be interested.

Request our government,  health department, Goa police, municipality and Panchayats to take action on plastic bags sellers and fine them. In Guirdolim village the road which goes from Guirdolim junction towards the narrow gate smells horrible. Request Guridolim village panchayat to take strong action in this matter.
