The Pink police force in Goa is unnecessary, as it fails to fulfill its intended role and drains public funds with extravagant uniforms and vehicles. Addressing women’s safety concerns can be achieved more effectively through specialized training for the existing female police team. The force appears more for show than substance, resembling a Bollywood film set. Men operate the vehicles, escorting lady police to the same cases as the regular Goa police. Integrating the Pink police into the existing force would be a more efficient approach to solving Goa’s problems.
Crime, led by criminals, dons, and mafia, is on the rise in Goa, with younger generations forming their gangs. Goa police, compromised by bribes and drinks, face disrespectful treatment, and street gunfights persist, revealing the absence of fear towards the police.
To regain control, the police force must strengthen itself. Alcohol is smuggled from Goa to other states due to bribes paid in advance, leading to rampant corruption. Other state police forces diligently inspect vehicles, exposing a major racket. This corruption erodes public faith in the police force. I urge Chief Minister Sawant to disband the Pink police force, promoting a unified front to combat the escalating crime rates in Goa.
