It is really sad to see that even when post mortems are conducted by doctors, crucial evidence and clues that could strengthen the prosecution against the accused are sometimes ignored and carelessly omitted.
GMC has done of excellent work during the pandemic and all times but there is something lacking in these postmortem investigations.
We heard of reports about the death of a girl from Nachinola that GMC went with the narrative of the police without doing their part of independently examining the body for other evidence to find if it was homicide. This looks very unprofessional of a medical profession. There has been a history of many botched post mortems and political interference in the past.
Citizens both poor and rich have high hopes in the medical institution and expect that this job would be done genuinely. All citizens humbly request that all suspicious and accidental post mortem investigation of deaths be video recorded for evidence and on the panel at least two members of the public like NGO's be kept to avoid any bias and interference.
Goa needs an accountable and robust postmortem of every human being brought to your attention. We hope that the hospital doctors will keep the trust of the people untarnished in their medical service.
