Prices of vegetables skyrocketing again

Once again prices of certain vegetables in Goa have started skyrocketing. The price tag of onions is Rs 55 per kilo, with tomatoes Rs 80 compared to the average rate of Rs 40/50. However, green chillies/coriander/garlic etc too have shown a high of 30 to 40 per cent as compared to their average prices.  Once again it has come as a major blow wherein the necessary vegetables are taken off the common man's plate. The sudden rainfall played spoil sport for crops in Kolhapur and Karnataka, and Goa receives its vegetable quota from these neighbouring states. Growing vegetables in the backyard or on the terrace, along with one's gardening skills helps in these times. Finally  common man is always hit in such type of crisis.
