Finally, women in golden Goa are kept ready to receive a dole of Rs 5,000 every month, irrespective of whether they are beggars, millionaires or billionaires. This is nothing but undemocratic inducement for votes and the stand of the Election Commission of India will be welcome. If parties are going to promise doles and later provide it, then this will be a huge burden on the exchequer and deprive funding for the development of education, health, transport, sports and other sectors.
