While I agree that peaceful protests were fine to highlight our condemnation on hate speeches regarding St Francis Xavier, I don’t support inconveniences to the public when the actual masterminds were the BJP politicians. Saying that, once religious emotions are manipulated such incidents will unfortunately happen. I recall many people warning Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to act immediately or the government will be responsible for any lawlessness; so why did the government deliberately delay filing an FIR and continue to delay arrest of culprit despite FIR being filed. Are we to believe that in small Goa with all the intelligence such a prominent person is hard to track? Who is the Goa government fooling ? Same games were played earlier by the Sawant government in the Assagao case where the arrest of 'queen-pin' was deliberately delayed. But when it comes to filing FIR on 500 protesters, the government showed super efficiency. Where are the FIRs on those who cut hills without approvals ? Why the double standards, CM Sawant ? Next time I suggest people be more wise in addressing protests with the sinister BJP Goa government.
