Since decades our priests in their homilies were orating to the people messages to contain and save our land and environment. The tiatrists, very importantly, were conveying their messages from the stage through acts and songs. Many eminent writers were conveying their messages in print media. The writing was on the wall for long, but very few Goans did pay heed to the call. People and politicians in collusion have messed it up to the top and our Goa is sinking into abyss. While some are fighting their families in courts others are leaving the state for better pastures out of the country. Many educated youngsters here are unemployed while business industries are full of migrant workers and the government is clueless on tackling this issue. Getting a government job costs Rs 20-30 lakhs for a clerical post. Imagine the charge for an officer's position. The small businesses in the villages employ mostly migrants, so also the households. The fact of the matter is very clear. Goa is in a transient stage and a new breed of Goenkars is shaping the state.
