Goa tourism has been receiving considerable negative attention on social media lately. India's tourism industry, not just Goa's, is deteriorating. India offers a rich diversity at each tourist destination, unique to its people and place, including culture, vibes, music, food, history, and local professions. However, corruption has enabled real estate mafias to transform holiday destinations into standardized commercial accommodations, leading to: destruction of local landscapes; unwanted infrastructure development and mass migrations. The migrants, who are mostly construction labourers, bring with them cultural and behavioural baggage that alters the local landscape and culture. Additionally, tourism is hindered by overpopulation & lack of civic sense. These issues threaten the authenticity and charm of India's tourist destinations.
