Record weekly vax, kudos to India

Between June 19 and 25, India created a record of sorts by vaccinating 3.98 crore people and of this 89% had their first jab and 70% were within the 18-44 age group. This remarkable vaccination drive was possible because of the health care workers, authorities, vaccine producing companies and support of the people. Now the government has set its targets to vaccinate 20 crore in July and 30 crore in August. If these work out then, as per reports, by Dec 2021 all the 94 crore adults would be vaccinated. This may be feasible if people continue to go to get jabbed in large numbers. If we are able to attain the goal then we could showpiece to the world that despite our large population, diversity of languages, cultures, educational background, socio-economic backgrounds, misgivings / misinformation about the vaccines, etc, we stood as one to fight the virus. This would truly be an achievement not only for India but also for the other countries to replicate our success story.
