Reinstall neglected signboard at Ponda

A signboard mentioning ‘Pedestrian Crossing’ near Public Café in the vicinity of old bus-stand in Ponda has been existing in a damaged condition.

The signboard has been lying in a totally flat position thereby preventing vehicular traffic from noticing the same. Above undesirable situation turns serious for the lives of innocent pedestrians wishing to cross the main road at this sensitive location.

With the said signboard lying in a neglected condition, pedestrians are likely to be knocked down by speeding vehicles. Of course, precious human lives must be assured safety on a permanent basis.

Hence it is absolutely necessary for the concerned authorities to re-install this neglected signboard thereby assuring relief to innocent pedestrians.

Similar signboard also needs to be installed near Shree Maruti temple at Varkhandem (also in Ponda). With speeding vehicles proceeding in opposite directions along this busy route, pedestrians, in particular the female gender and senior citizens face untold hardships while crossing the road.

Let us hope that the concerned authorities take note of this suggestion and initiate prompt favourable action in this regard in public interest.
