This is with reference to the report, "House repair simplified…… - The Goan Everyday - April 10, 2025." Simplifying procedures for house repairs may come as a relief to householders, provided of course, the structure is legal and all supporting documents are in order. According to the news report, permission is to be granted within three days of the application. The state government must be complimented for this. Without getting into debate, there are structures which spring up in cities and are provided all utility services. After a number of years however, the authorities wake up to find these structures are illegal/unauthorised. Then, either they are demolished or in cities like Mumbai they get rewarded with new free accommodation in towers under the SRA scheme.
